Abstract:
The elective affinities between the moving-image and fashion can be explored under a number of approaches, and in regards to a variety formats and media environments, accordingly to the extension of the relationship moving-image/fashion from the cinematic screens to TV screens, computer monitors and mobile devices displays. This Introduction traces a genealogy of the intersection between these two media, from cinema to YouTube, and highlights some of the main theoretical issues the contributions deal with.
