Ego Tiberius Decianus… sententiando declaro. Deciani giudice «civile» (Vicenza 1546-1547)

The essay presents the provisional results of a first archival core sampling which allowed to find numerous judgments, as far as we know, unpublished, pronounced by Tiberio Deciani, acting as civil judge of the Court «del Sigillo» of Vicenza, between 12 February and May 26, 1547. On the one hand, the investigation aims to offer sources and data relating to the activity of the famous friulian jurist as vicar of the Podestà of Vicenza; on the other hand, it provides prodromal information to face a more in-depth study of the procedural practice of the Vicentine judicial magistrates of the modern age.
