The chapter analyzes how contemporary museums (and museums of contemporary art in particular) are dealing with a seriers of major issues concerning accountability, transparency, and the politics of restitution in a decolonial frawork. The international case-studies chosen to draw a map of the museological reactions to the most recent debates, the article sheds a light on ethical issues, conservation policies and the political discourse around interpretation in the light of global social movements such as BLM, Occupy, Just Stop Oil and others.
