The essay is the result of a research activity that aims to analyze the activities of the Supreme Defense Council in the first seventyfive years of the Republic. In particular, the work addresses how the Council's activity has changed with respect to the change in international relations and the commitment of the Italian Armed Forces. The general theme is analyzed from the perspective of the sources of law. In particular, completely new situations were taken into consideration and the choices made by the Supreme Defense Council were analyzed. International crises such as, for example, the attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East lead to an in-depth study of the relationship between the Council, chaired by the Head of State, the Government and Parliament.
