L’esperienza pavese di Edoardo Gemelli

Starting from the reading of La conversione di Gemelli, by Luciano Pazzaglia, the contribution provides some considerations on Edoardo Gemelli’s experience in Pavia as undergraduate student, and his religious conversion. The reflection focuses on the main features of Gemelli’s understanding of Catholicism and how from these stemmed his desire to integrate faith with social and cultural action, culminating in his commitment for the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. Alongside these elements, the essay also considers the influence that his journey in the context of the oldest University in Lombardy had on Gemelli; some reference figures like Camillo Golgi and (retrospectively) Contardo Ferrini, as well as the Ghislieri College, where young Edoardo was a boarder.
