Abstract:
This paper examines the role of Moodle in the development of assessment competences in student-teachers enrolled in the “Problems and Techniques of Assessment” course at the University of Bergamo. The course, designed for students in the Primary Education Sciences programme, integrates both theoretical and practical learning through the Moodle platform. The study investigates how the online environment supported by Moodle facilitated the creation and analysis of assessment tools by student-teachers, focusing on the development of
their assessment skills. The course structure includes 11 lectures, 3 workshops, and several assignments, with a total of 43 student submissions analysed. Findings suggest that Moodle’s structured, flexible environment significantly contributed to enhancing student-teachers’ competence in designing assessment tools, especially
through practical tasks and peer feedback. The results underline the importance of careful planning and the effective use of online resources in teacher training, demonstrating that Moodle can play a key role in fostering assessment skills in future educators.
