A specific passage of the Life of Symeon Salos (pp. 157, 17 - 158, 8 in the critical edition of Rydén) is dealt at length, especially from the linguistic and stylistic point of view, in order to catch the peculiar features of that author. It is an useful 'exercise' for students of Late Greek.
