Conclusions [to Fandom Democracy? Celebrity Leaders and New Forms of Citizens’ Engagement]

In the concluding chapter, we present the topics identified as the most crucial based on the empirical findings. The chapter discusses the profiles of fans according to survey data and social media content; the relationship between fandom and ideology; the differences and similarities between political and celebrity fandoms; the practices of fandom; anti-fandom; and the phenomenon of the fandomesque. Finally, the chapter drafts a future research agenda.
