The teaching aims to: - to introduce and learn the fundamental concepts of the subject, of the main current theories and of the state of the art of the ongoing discussion on the subject of justice; - produce the ability to re-elaborate the topics covered by the lessons and to apply the theoretical cases to concrete situations; - help to develop an appropriate language in exposing problems and in arguing for or against a certain choice.

Teaching Methods
The course includes lectures with a strong involvement of the students, in the form of group discussions initiated by the teacher or by the students themselves. Attendance is optional, but strongly recommended.
Assessment Methods
The exam will be oral and aims to verify the knowledge of the fundamental concepts and theories of the subject, the ability to organize this knowledge discursively, the ability to develop a critical reasoning on the contents of the subject, the quality of the exposure and the lexicon used.
Contents
The teaching program includes the presentation and discussion of the following topics: The idea of justice. The genealogy of justice. Justice in law and justice in morals Justice and legality. Justice and equality. The areas of justice: distributive, allocative, commutative, rectifier, retributive, transitional justice.
There are no program differences between attending and non-attending students. Communications will take place via the teacher's personal page. Erasmus students and students with PDP/PEI are kindly requested to contact the professor at his institutional email.
