Contents

The module represents the second part of the course of “Texts and images from Classical Antiquity to Modernity” and analyses the artistic and visual dimension of the topics analysed in the first module under the literary point of view.

We will examine the reception of mythical figures in figurative arts, following the development of the main forms of Greek art: sculpture, painting and architecture. We will also further investigate the visual and performative dimension of Greek theatre tradition, with particular attention to the reception of Ancient drama in contemporary literature and theatre.
