This module of Mechanics of Materials and Structures aims at providing basic notions for the description of the mechanical response of solids and structures under given loadings. Both statically-determined and statically-undetermined structures are considered, together with typical concepts of equilibrium and compatibility, which are developed both at the continuum scale (Continuum Mechanics) and at the structural scale (Mechanics of Structures: beams and frames).
Course Prerequisites
Mathematical Analysis I and II, Rational Mechanics.
Teaching Methods
Lectures (theoretical and applied), intermediary tests in class and at home.
Assessment Methods
Written test + oral exam.
