The aim of the module is to introduce students to the main issues pertaining international trade. By working on the most recent models and empirical literature on international trade, the students will develop skills in interpreting the effects of globalization on productivity, innovation, labour market, market power and welfare.

Lectures and in class discussion of scientific articles.
Written exam (open, true/false, and multiple choice questions, practical exercises). The exam aims to test the understanding of the economic models and the ability to link the models to events of the world economy.
The module covers the following topics:
- the effects of international trade on firm innovation and productivity;
- the consequences of trade in new technologies on firm performance and country welfare;
- the relationship between globalization, concentration and market power;
- the effects of import competition on the labour market.
The course exists in e-learning mode. The registration is strongly advised to all the students.
