The course aims at providing the knowledge of the main statistical methods for the quantitative analysis. At the end of the course the student will gain the ability to:
- choose, apply and test appropriate statistical methods and models for the analysis of different types of data;
- interpret the results in a decision making perspective.
Statistics
The exam consists in a written test including open-ended and test questions (concerning theoretical topics or short applications of the studied methods). The exam is in written form. Students have about 2 hours to complete it. The student must identify proper techniques to be used, among those learned in the course.
Hypothesis testing - with applications in parametric and non-parametric settings. Models for the analysis of statistical dependency. Methods and models for categorical data analysis
- Attending classes is strongly recommended. Non-attending students are strongly invited to contact the teachers to get help for preparing the exam.
