Syllabus

Course Objectives

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

At the end of the module, the student will know the main basic concepts of sports practice from an inclusive perspective for people with disabilities, in formal, informal and non-formal life contexts.

You will also know the main functioning characteristics of the different disabilities, with particular regard to the praxis-motor area. They will also have achieved awareness of the main changes that, from a historical and cultural perspective, have affected the access and participation of people with disabilities in sporting activities, as well as the main organizations (sports and Paralympic), at a national and international level.

Finally, he will learn about the main realities that, at a local and national level, deal with inclusive sport.

COMPETENCES


At the end of the module the student will have achieved useful skills to decline and apply the main notions of special pedagogy for the construction and planning, from an inclusive perspective, of sports activities, according to the specific functioning characteristics of the different types of disabilities and their expressiveness throughout the life span.

There are no prerequisites for this course


Teaching Methods

In the first part of the course, the teaching activity is proposed with frontal lessons which include specifically structured questions to encourage reflective processes.


The second part involves the active participation of students through guided discussions, working groups, meetings and laboratory experiences.


Assessment Methods

Un feedback riflessivo durante e alla conclusione di ogni lezione verrĂ  utilizzato per un costante monitoraggio del processo di apprendimento degli studenti.

The test will consist of an ORAL test relating to the contents of the texts studied and those that can be seen from the lecture slides on the same topics.

The texts studied by the student will be discussed there.

The evaluation criteria will concern:

- the exhaustiveness of the knowledge achieved around each of the proposed themes;

- the correctness of the specific language of the scientific domain;


- expository correctness in terms of logical, syntactic and grammatical construction.


Contents

Body and movement in the different types of disabilities from a life span perspective.

Principles, foundations, history and organizations for sports activities for disabilities.

Sports activity in an inclusive perspective for people with disabilities and their role in formal, informal and non-formal contexts.

Examples of (local and national) inclusive sport and main characteristics.

More information

Students with PDP and PEI may request to take the examination in oral form (if this is provided for in their syllabus document). However, it's crucial to note that any variation must be agreed upon with the course lecturer, and all students are advised to take the examination in the form provided in the syllabus.

Please also note that to obtain approval for the use of concept maps (provided only for those who are entitled to them), you must send them to the lecturer at least one week before the exam.

If the course is taught in mixed or distance mode, the syllabus may be changed to make the course and exams usable in these modes as well.
