The course will be taught through lectures. The teaching approach will promote critical thinking and will encourage classroom dialogue and discussion. The teaching programme includes seminars delivered by visiting professors.
The course aims to reflect on the importance of communication and narrative techniques in the legal field. Some of the flaws of writing (and speaking) by legal professionals, the logical weaknesses and unnecessary obscurities that pervade legal language will be analyzed. And a lot of practice will be given: of writing and rewriting. During the course, students will also have the opportunity to engage with visiting professors from Scuola Holden (Turin). We will be influenced, inspired and provoked by their idea of storytelling and writing, and we will discover that the fundamental gesture of those who work with words is, after all, the same as that of those who work among codes, laws and contracts: the continuous and relentless search for exactitude.
