In addition, the understanding of the specificities of the discipline's methodological approach, the contents of the essays on the reading list, as well as the acquisition of the specific terminology, will be also assessed.

Contents

The course introduces to a reading of works of art in a way that is not limited to the analysis and evaluation of their formal values. The programme is divided into two parts. The first will introduce the characteristics of the subject and will have a methodological approach. The second part will open with a discussion of the evolution of Italian art from the Renaissance to the Baroque and will then move on to focus on case studies, i.e. works of art that were fundamental to the development of Italian artistic production, through which the approaches presented in the first part will be put into practice.
