The course aims to foster the development of sensitivity around the themes of the city, from its constitutive aspects to those related to the dynamics of our time.

The teaching will take place through lectures, with particular attention to discussion and direct dialogue with students, who will be able to propose areas for further exploration or debate during the lessons. The lessons will include lectures, multimedia materials, and guided tours.
The final exam will be held orally, and the evaluation will be expressed in a 30-point scale. The interrogation will consist of several questions covering the entire syllabus in order to assess the students' acquisition of the knowledge taught throughout the course.
The course, in its general part, invites the examination of the geographical aspects of the theme of the city. It will then consider the main urban dynamics of Italy, with special reference to the reality of the Po Valley and Lombardy.
