Syllabus

Course Objectives

The course aims to get to know the institutional character of business administration, as a whole and in its component parts. It provides also the knowledge of accounting standard for the understanding of the business financial statement.

Teaching Methods

Teaching will take place through lectures. However there will be comparison and direct dialogue with the students, which will formulate proposals for further study or debate.

Within the course, practical exercises about the financial statement and its analysis will take place with the following aims: 1) to allow students to understand the business representation through the accounting tool; 2) to draw up the financial statement and to implement its analysis.

Moreover,there will be scheduled hours of tutoring for students who need to take additional tutorials during the course. These tutorials will focus on the topics of the class and are intended to support students to cope with any difficulties that they may encounter.

In addition, the course uses the Moodle platform, in which all the material class are published, made up of: slides with theoretical content as a complement of the text adopted; material for exercises to be performed in the classroom; material for exercises to be carried out with solutions for personal insights.



Assessment Methods

The assessment is conducted by means of a 60-minute final written test in which there are: open and closed questions covering the theory of the entire course; exercises concerning company values and their allocation in the financial statements; the preparation of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement of the statutory financial statements; financial statement analysis with margins and indices and related comments.

Examination results are published directly on the Esse3 platform for the management of appeals, allocating a time margin of no less than 3 days for the student to confirm or reject the grade.
