PSYCHOLOGICAL STUDIES - 40-R/PERCORSO COMUNE Year: 1
Year:
2025
At the end of the course, the students will have acquired knowledge about the history of scientific psychology and the basic psychological functioning. Furthermore, they will be able to critically analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the theoretical and empirical paradigms that will be presented during classes.
Teaching will take place through both lectures and individual and group practical activities.
The exam consists of a written test lasting 2 hours. The test is divided into two parts. The first part consists of 10 forced-choice questions which will permit to verify if the student has learnt the theoretical foundations and basic concepts of general psychology. On the other hand, the second part includes two open-ended questions, which aim to assess the student’s ability to critically reflect on key topics of general psychology that will be examined during the course. The final mark is the sum of the scores obtained in the two parts of the test. In this regard, it will be assigned one point for each correct answer to the questions included in the first part of the exam and up to 10 points for each answer relating to the second part. Students who will provide in depth and comprehensive answers to the questions included in the second part of the test may aspire to the maximum mark (30 cum laude). The marks will be communicated to the institutional email of each student through the University information system. As for the students of the three-year degree courses in Philosophy and Educational Sciences (6 credits course), the exam will last one hour and a half and will include 20 forced-choice questions and one open-ended question. The awarding of the final grade follows the same criteria as described above: 20 points for the forced-choice questions and up to 10 points for the open-ended question, with the possibility of honors.
The students not attending classes must adhere to the program described above. For any request, they can contact the professor either personally or by e-mail.
