Course Objectives

The course aims to provide students with the tools to understand family and child law through the analysis of relevant constitutional and European principles, the study of the principles and categories of civil law relating to minors, and an in-depth examination of sector-specific legislation. The main institutions of family law will be addressed, with an approach that highlights the role of the minor.

The course also seeks to equip students with the skills needed to address complex situations related to parenting and child care, including the dynamics of foster care and adoption. Students will be prepared to collaborate effectively with social services, public and private institutions, and third-sector organizations involved in child protection. They will also be trained to contribute to the design and management of educational and support interventions within juvenile criminal proceedings, acquiring a solid professional methodology based on legal and technical competences.

Course Prerequisites

Good mastery of the Italian language.

Teaching Methods

Teaching is carried out through theoretical lectures.

During the course, in order to explore specific areas of family law in greater depth, seminars will be organized with the participation of subject-matter experts.

Assessment Methods

The exam takes place in oral form; there are no intermediate checks; the evaluation will be expressed in thirtieth.

The question will be structured in some questions - usually 3 - concerning the entire program in order to verify the acquisition by students of the knowledge imparted within the course. The number of questions may vary (and be greater or less than 3) due to the quality and breadth of the answers given.

Each individual response will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

- quality, completeness and relevance to demand;

- mastery of argumentation and reasoning,
