2) Instrumental objectives (exercises/AALs).

At the end of the course, students will also have acquired, deepened and improved their competence in the area of translation and in the four communicative skills of the European Framework of Reference at B2+/C1 level. To this end, it is essential (though not formally mandatory) to attend dedicated language learning activities (AAL).

Course Prerequisites

Knowledge of German Language equal to level B2+ of the European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

Teaching Methods

2) As regards instrumental skills (exercises/AAL), please consult the section of the website dedicated to the University Language Centre; German - LLCS (https://www.unibg.it/studiare/frequentare/apprendimento-linguistico/tedesco/tedesco-llcs).

Assessment Methods

Language exercises (AAL): PMTS students: To take the LM I A German language course exam, you must first pass the following written language proficiency test (AAL): Business German-Italian translation.

LMCCI students can take the two written tests (written expression and translation) and the oral examination no earlier than the end of the 2nd semester of the year in which they have accrued attendance.

German linguistics course taught by Prof. Dorothee Heller: The assessment of the official LM I A German language course results from the evaluation of a written midterm test (for attending students) and an interview on course topics (all students).

ASSESSMENT

The assessment will take into account the level of acquisition of the knowledge and skills required for the course, in particular linguistic correctness (lexical, morphosyntactic, pragmatic and phonological), terminological accuracy, appropriateness to the task at hand and mastery of the tools of linguistic analysis and reflection.

The examination relating to language skills (AAL, written expression and translation) accounts for one third of the final grade (33.3%). The average of the exam mark for the course taught by Professor Heller counts for two thirds of the final grade (66.6%).

Grades are in thirtieths according to the following bands:

Excellent (30 cum laude) - Knowledge and skills fully acquired and applied with precision, effectiveness and autonomy. No errors.

Very good (30-27) - Very sound knowledge and skills, applied correctly and with confidence. Minor and non-recurring errors.

Good (26-24) - Adequate knowledge and skills, with some uncertainty or imprecision. Errors present but not serious or systematic.

Sufficient (23-18) - Basic knowledge and skills acquired but applied partially or with evident errors. Sufficient general understanding.

Insufficient (less than 18) - Insufficient knowledge and skills not adequately developed. Numerous errors impairing the success of the task.
