Course Objectives

The course is designed to develop an in-depth understanding of the conscious and unconscious dynamics that influence the functioning of groups, organizations, and institutions. Through a theoretical and practical approach, it explores the foundational theories explaining these processes, alongside practical applications and tools useful for observing, interpreting, and effectively intervening within complex organizational contexts.

Specifically, the course aims to:

  • provide interpretative frameworks rooted in psychodynamic, systemic, and social-constructivist perspectives to understand organizational phenomena, including processes of communication, leadership, belonging, and resistance to change;
  • promote the ability to observe and decode relational and symbolic dynamics that emerge in professional and institutional settings, with particular attention to the latent levels of collective processes;
  • develop analytical and reflective skills to recognize and manage emotional, identity-related, and cultural factors that influence group and organizational behavior;
  • foster the acquisition of methodological tools for designing and implementing interventions aimed at organizational well-being, process improvement, and facilitating change;
  • encourage a professional stance grounded in awareness of one's role and personal impact within organizational systems.

Through case studies, group work, supervision, and experiential analysis, the course also aims to enhance participants’ critical thinking and their ability to intervene ethically and responsibly in complex organizational settings.

Contents

The course focuses on an in-depth analysis of the characteristics and dynamics involving individuals, groups, organizations, and institutions, with particular attention to the conscious and unconscious processes that occur within professional and social contexts.

It provides a thorough exploration of the psychodynamic interpretation of the functioning of these social systems, integrating key theoretical models with essential methodological approaches for observation, understanding, and intervention.

Participants will gain knowledge of the psychological mechanisms underlying individual and collective behaviors, exploring topics such as relational dynamics, group processes, role functions, conflicts, and methods for managing organizational change.

Furthermore, the course offers tools and skills to design and implement psychological interventions aimed at improving organizational climate, supporting human resources, and optimizing work processes, thereby promoting well-being and functionality within professional settings.
