Oral exam in conjunction with the previous module.

Contents

The course, after briefly introducing some concepts of political economy (the market and market failures, natural monopolies, public goods in an economic sense, etc.), will first illustrate the historical phases of economic law from the unification of Italy to the recent crises. It will then focus on the Constitutional provisions that address economic relationships related to economic initiative (Article 41), property in general (Article 42), and land property (Article 44), or specific categories of enterprises such as those providing essential public services and energy sources (Article 43), cooperatives and artisanal businesses (Article 45), and concludes with the protection of savings (Article 47).

Institutions deriving from the European Union (such as the freedoms of movement and establishment guaranteed by the EU treaties) and the rules governing competition and state aid will also be addressed.

Finally, will be briefly examined some so-called "sectional regulations" relating to banking, insurance, and financial intermediation activities, placing these disciplines within the framework of economic regulation of the market through independent authorities.
