abstract:
The contribution illustrates the concept of paesaggio minimo (minimal landscape), made up of territorial units of small surface, the result of human transformation, characterized by geographical specificity, historical-landscape value and identity, habitat of biocenoses of naturalistic value not very common in dense urban environments. A comparison is also made with the concept of Third Landscape proposed by G. Clément and verified the role of minimal landscapes as a reservoir of biodiversity along a transept of about 20 km in the linear conurbation of the lower Val Seriana between Bergamo and Albino. At the end, some minimal landscape management practices that can be interpreted as an example of reconciliation ecology (Rosenzweig, 2003) are described.
