The article focuses on the narrative in Hannah Arendt's thought. The attention to the narrative is not the expression of a purely aesthetic interest: literature and narration are deeply inherent in philosophical and pedagogical reflection.The task of narrating is to save human action from the dissolving power of the time: transforming the weave of facts into a story is the only possibility to give senseto action.The story is a chance to re-signify the experience through the imagination. It is therefore a special possibility of understanding. And the Dark Times, those of the catastrophe of the Twentieth century, first of all have to be understood.
