Una postilla lessicale di dialettologia veneta: il lemma mistico

This contribution deals with the adjective mistico 'only' used in a very limited area between the provinces of Venice and Treviso (Veneto, Italy). This adjective is almost in the lexica of every Venetian variety and is nowadays almost obsolete, employed only by people of old age. What is peculiar is its meaning: since it cannot but derive from the Greek word mystikos 'mystic', how the new meaning could develop remains thus far unexplained.
