abstract:
Measures and interventions implemented by States to contain the pandemic caused by the spread of the COVID-19 virus triggered a health, economic and social crisis worldwide. In this situation, persons with disabilities (PwD) are the most exposed to the risks and to the effects of the pandemic.
In order to identify critical elements and good practices for designing future actions, it is essential taking stock of the situation and to represent a conceptual and operational perspective aimed at analyzing how the pandemic impacted on PwD. In this view, this study proposes a review of some documents published by supranational organizations worldwide that could be helpful to identify key elements and issues providing guidance, in order to introduce policies, set actions, research activities so to guarantee the rights of PwD.
