Immigration: Politics, rhetoric and participatory practices in Italian museums

The chapter describes the main mediation strategies aimed at involving migrant audiences in the dialogue with cultural institutions and more specifically museums. A few case-studies, some of which designed by the author herself, are described critically in order to outline the political agendas, the biases, the main contrainsts undelying in that specific moment in Italy.
