(2021). Un cineasta delle riserve. Gianni Celati e il cinema . Retrieved from http://hdl.handle.net/10446/191505
abstract:
Gianni Celati is a cinephile writer: from his first novels, inspired by the Buster Keaton and Laurel & Hardy slapstick comedies , to the essays dedicated to his most beloved directors (Antonioni, Wenders, Fellini), he has never ceased to consider cinema a fundamental ingredient of his poetics. So much so that he tried his hand at directing, making a handful of unique and unclassifiable films in the space of twenty years, halfway between fiction and non-fiction. The book alternates unpublished documents and testimonies by friends and collaborators, historical reconstructions and precise analyses of individual films. It traces Celati's relationship with cinema: the genesis of his works, his unrealized projects, and his artistic and human collaborations with Carlo Gajani, Luigi Ghirri, Giuliano Scabia and Alberto Sironi.
