Una fortezza gagliarda e stravagante: modelli e disegni

In the decades-long history of the making of the fortress of Bergamo, many models and drawings have been produced, fundamental tools for illustrating and evaluating the design choices made from time to time by military captains and engineers in decision-making centres. If no physical evidence remains of the models, we have a fair number of drawings left. The different times of the construction site, especially the most problematic ones, are graphically fixed on these sheets according to various modes of representation: from the quick survey sketch, to the explanatory drawing supplemented with notes, up to very accurate and refined presentation sketches
