La pragmatica linguistica nell'interazione

This chapter has been designed taking into consideration two needs, the first relating to the content to be transmitted and the second relating to the transmission methods. More precisely, with regard to the first requirement, the objective is to introduce an audience of beginner students of linguistics to the field of pragmatics (language in use, context, speech acts, politeness). At the same time, we intend to transmit this knowledge by stimulating the reflection and involvement of the students in the classroom; that is, it aims to encourage students to bring out some of the pragmatic knowledge they possess as users of (at least) one language, knowledge they are not likely to be aware of. Students’ engagement aims to counter the scant interest in the basics of general linguistics that learners often complain about.
