Appunti per un corpus di sardo multimediale

This paper aims to describe the first version of a Contemporary Sardinian
corpus, as well as the results of a preliminary linguistic analysis performed
on it. The corpus is a collection of interviews conducted in 2008-2009 with
Sardinians living in the Italian peninsula and in some French areas, as a
part of the project Mannigos de memòria in limbas dae su disterru (‘Tastes
of memory in languages from the diaspora’), aimed at documenting the
linguistic, social and anthropological aspects of the Sardinian diaspora.
The preliminary data presented in the study include only a part of
the material collected and are presented as orthographic transcriptions
of audio and video recordings.
The article is divided into five paragraphs. The first one is devoted
to the description of the project that resulted in the creation of the cor-
pus (§ 1). Subsequently, the data collection methods, the features of the
informants involved, as well as the theme framework of the interviews
are discussed (§ 2).
The third section focuses on the transcription and annotation tech-
niques used for the creation of the corpus (§ 3). The fourth section
illustrates the preliminary results of the data analysis and possible
analytical developments of sociolinguistic matrix related to contact
phenomena. The fifth paragraph contains concluding remarks, as well
as further analytical perspectives related to the corpus implementation.
