L’Achilleide di Stazio: sulle tracce del processo di educazione e di formazione di un giovane eroe

This paper aims to analyze the poem written by the Latin poet Stazio, who, in his Achilleide, shows a particular attention on the feelings and experiences of a young hero. In his process of growing up, he relates himself with the centaur Chirone, who educates him on Pelio mountain, his mother Teti, and Deidamia, the daughter of the king Licomede, with whom he falls in love. This paper also highlights the role that these three figures play in the Achille’s process of education that will lead him to fight for glory, the focus of his life as a hero
