abstract:
The chapter introduces the issues at the core of an exhibition dedicated to artist and architect Luciano Baldessari (1896-1982), presented at Teatro Donizetti in April-May 2023 and curated by Anna Chiara Cimoli. Those issues concern the special declination of the idea of "modernity", as articulated in Berlin in 1923-26, at the crossroads of Expressionism and New Objectivity.
