Genitori di figli adolescenti: i valori personali sono risorse nella promozione dell’autoefficacia genitoriale?

This paper analyzes the association between parents’ personal values and their parental self-efficacy, considering the sex of both parents and children. Three hundred and fortyseven fathers and four hundred and seven mothers with at least one adolescent child were involved and requested to complete a self-report questionnaire. Results showed several significant associations between the variables. Specifically, fathers’ and mothers’ parental selfefficacy increased with the increasing of the importance given to self-transcendence and conservation values. In the case of mothers, the higher openness to change was, the stronger parental self-efficacy. Moreover, child sex moderated the relationship between mothers’ conservation and self-efficacy.
