The article presents the perception of the IBA Emscher Park in Italy, with a focus on the media coverage. A detailed listing of articles published in professional journals and information on the profiles and target audiences gives an overview of the IBA's relevance in the Italian world of media. It is pointed out that there are no projects like the IBA in Italy, but that the academic discussion has contributed to the development of the Italian planning culture. Besides some classic exhibition projects the article outlines some projects in Italy, which were inspired by the IBA Emscher Park.
