Cantare e decantare la poesia nel Tre-Quattrocento: prolegomeni di una “Filologia dell’esecuzione” = "Decantare" and singing Poetry in the 14th and 15th Centuries: Prolegomena for a 'Philology of Performance'

In these few pages we propose some observations on the relationship between poetry and performance in the 14th-15th century repertories, in the perspective of a possible philological restitution that also takes into account the formal aspects typical of set to music repertoires. From this point of view, fundamental is a reflection on the relationship between lyric poetry, to be sung, and narrative poetry, according to the surviving evidence to be decantata.
