Unica Zürn e il Surrealismo di Bellmer

The homage to the scholar of French Literature Alberto Castoldi, among other things a refined scholar of the relationship with objects of desire such as dolls and other fetishes, offers the occasion for an excursion into the world of simulacra of maidens that Hans Bellmer (1902-1975) frequented assiduously as an artist of Surrealism. His encounter with the Berlin writer Unica Zürn (1916-1970), whose intense creativity is also linked to a visionary nature that depends on an established form of schizophrenia, generates a complicity between the two characters that is marked by erotic obsession and psychological violence. The essay deals with giving voice to the woman's traumas, reviewing some stages of her poetic and figurative career and tracing the contours of her tragic nature.
