Bergamo, l’idea della città parco

The lack of territorial memory and knowledge of places characterises urban readings and also those relating to the city of Bergamo. To recover an adequate reading of places we must pursue a renewed culture of places. By this expression is meant the ability to assign meaning to territorial objects, recognising their historical, cultural, physical and environmental values, so that any new action or new intervention can be harmoniously and functionally welded with the pre-existing context. Fundamental from this point of view is the contribution of Geography, the discipline of space that becomes territory. The aim is therefore to delineate, in the least deforming and reductive way possible, the structures and spatial organisations in their most significant and determining elements and factors, focusing on the cornerstones of territorial organisation that, within the great historical periods, have determined the most relevant changes in territorial organisation and the consequent landscape face.
