(2023). La Fortezza di Bergamo: un patrimonio militare da rileggere e conservare - The Fortress of Bergamo: a military heritage to be re-read and preserved . Retrieved from https://hdl.handle.net/10446/299209
abstract:
The fortified landscape of Bergamo is a complex and organic system that consists of both the Venetian Walls and a corpus of lesser known but equally valuable defensive architectures. The Orobic village was shaped by the coexistence of both the military city and civilians within the same enclosure. A duality that can be read in the ensemble of the many surviving buildings: recognizable elements of the territory and evidence of the specificity of a singular site, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
