abstract:
Evandro Agazzi turns 80 on October 23rd. To celebrate the occasion the Spanish University of Valladolid, one of the oldest in Europe (800 years) awarded hima honoris causa doctorate in philosophy. The magazine of which he was the first head editor and now he is director emeritus, dedicates him both the insert Studi on n. 2 of october 2014 (pp. 30-44) and this essay written by the new head editor, who shared with him 28 years of his leadership, first as editor-in-chief and then as co-director. Agazzi has been a philosopher tout court, and a philosopher of science, first of all, but also of logic, mathematics, physics, language, morality. He was not a philosopher of education, in a strict sense, and not even an educator. However, from his philosophy and his epistemology you can get specific theoretical options of philosophy of education and general education. This essay highlights them and on them the education should ponder.
