abstract:
The text examines the concept of public interest in relation to social credit, highlighting its historical evolution from a primarily solidarity-based tool aimed at combating usury to a broader collective and public interest. It analyses the sustainability of credit from an economic, social, and environmental perspective, emphasizing the need to balance financial system stability with social inclusion and poverty reduction. Particular attention is devoted to the role of regulatory frameworks—such as microcredit and anti-usury legislation—in ensuring access to credit for vulnerable groups. Finally, the text reflects on the future development of social credit within the context of ecological transition and increasing emphasis on sustainable finance, advocating for a financial system capable of reconciling economic objectives with collective and social interests to promote inclusive and sustainable development.
