La missione del sapere. A cento anni dalla Riforma Gentile = The Mission of Knowledge. Hundred Years Since Gentile’s Reform

A hundred years after the educational reform designed and implemented by Giovanni Gentile, there remain a large number of theoretical, pedagogical, and political issues that are still unresolved. These relate to the Italian Republican heritage of the reform and the new form that the task of nation-building has assumed within a democratic social framework. Through an examination of the essays contained in a recent volume, attention is focused here on the above-listed issues, addressing in particular their philosophical, political, and historiographical context.
