abstract:
Corpi dolenti, voci resistenti offers an interdisciplinary and transfeminist exploration of endometriosis and vulvodynia, two chronic conditions that remain largely invisible within medical, political, and public discourse. Bringing together contributions from researchers, patients, clinicians, and activists, the volume examines how gendered inequalities, medical gaslighting, and androcentric biomedical paradigms shape experiences of diagnosis, care, and recognition. Through autobiographical narratives, participatory research, theoretical reflections, and analyses of artistic and digital practices, the book challenges the marginalization of chronic pelvic and vulvar pain. It reframes embodied suffering as a site of political struggle, collective awareness, and shared care, advocating for more inclusive, patient-centered, and socially just approaches to health and healthcare.
