Le comunità dell’acqua. La Franciacorta: ripensare la storia di un territorio attraverso le acque

This contribution aims to explore the history of Franciacorta from the particular perspective of the landscape history, with a special focus on the history of water in this area. The first part of the work is devoted to an in-depth study of the literature on the history of Franciacorta, together with an analysis of some specific sources, tracing the main lines useful for the purposes of the research. The crucial importance of the development of water resource exploitation can be clearly traced in the documentary, landscape and architectural evidence of the area, which has been catalogued and studied to tell the story of the link between water and the communities of Franciacorta.
The last part of the text deals with placing this cataloguing within the contemporary pedagogical debate (both national and international) on museology and museography, with a view to providing a solid foundation – both from an epistemological and methodological point of view – for the creation of a widespread museum across this area.
