Italy’s cultural resistance to non-university higher education

The aim of this paper is to analyze the reasons that caused the cultural and ideological resistances, particularly in Italy, to the spread of non-university Higher Educaton based on the pedagogical principle of alternation between school and work, like industrial PhDs and apprenticeships for research purposes.
