Curriculum Vitae
Valentina Raimondo is the museum curator at the University of Bergamo. An art historian specializing in 20th-century Italian art, she focuses in particular on sculpture, art criticism, and the visual culture surrounding the figure of Gabriele d’Annunzio. She manages the art collection and archive of the Ada and Mario De Micheli Fund at the University of Bergamo.
After obtaining a postgraduate diploma in Contemporary Art History from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and a PhD in History and Criticism of Artistic and Environmental Heritage from the University of Milan, she worked for many years as a freelance researcher for major cultural institutions in Bergamo, including GAMeC, the Fondazione Accademia Carrara, the Museo delle Storie di Bergamo, and the Angelo Mai Civic Library.
From 2021 to 2025, she took part in a research project at the University of Bergamo funded by the Max Planck Institute as part of the "Material Culture, Science, and Technology" program, dedicated to the study of the material aspects of Giacomo Manzù’s work.
She has published numerous essays and monographs and collaborated with several major institutions and foundations, including the Guttuso Archives, the Severini Franchina Archive, the Giorgio Cini Foundation, the Helenita and Aligi Sassu Foundation, and the Vittoriale degli Italiani Foundation.
