PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY
Full professor of Anglo-American Literature at the Università degli Studi of Bergamo. Director of the Undergraduate School of Media and Communication Studies (October 2009-2014). Previously “Ricercatore” in American Literature, University of Bergamo (1990-2003), has also taught History of Literary Criticism.
“Prof. a contratto” (Assistant Professor) of English Literature (University of Verona, 1985-87), and of American Literature (University of Bergamo, 1987-90).

MAIN FIELDS OF RESEARCH AND EDITORIAL BOARDS
History of Literature Criticism, War Literature of the USA (mainly Vietnam) and Literature of the American West. On these subjects has lectured in Italy and abroad, has organized seminars and international symposia, has published about one book, about 30 essays and edited 5 volumes and some journal issues. He has regularly contributed to the following journals: “Alfabeta” (1983-1988), “Differentia” (corresponding editor, 1988-1996), “Il confronto letterario” (editorial board, 1994-2000). He has been a member of the editorial board of “Interface. Journal of Applied Linguistics" (Brussels), of “Ácoma. Rivista internazionale di studi nordamericani” since 1996 (co-editor since 2010), of "Paragrafo" since 2005 and of "Dintorni" since 2007.
RESEARCH GROUPS
He was a member of the Research Group "Public and Private in American History: State,Family,Subjectivity in the Twentieth Century” (financed by the Italian Ministry of Education MURST 1998-2000), and is the co-founder and director of the Research Center on the “Languages of War and Violence” (web site http://dinamico2.unibg.it/guerra/). He is a member of the Centro per gli Studi di Politica Estera e Opinione Pubblica of the University of Milano and of the Associazione Italiana di Studi Nord-Americani (AISNA), of EAAS (European Association of American Studies), IASA(International Association of American Studies), of WLA (Western Literature Association) and of CompaLit (Italian Association for the Study of Theory and Comparative History of Literature) .
