Institutional capacity building to attract FDI: preconditions and expected results

This chapter sistematizes the economic literature on the effects of foreign direct investment on receiving countries, in order to better individuate when and under which conditions these effects on human capital, labour markets, productivity, competitiveness and growth are likely to be positive and important.
