Abstract:
Recent developments in “deep learning” by which a device based on neural networks imitating those of the human brain learns through data, have enabled artificial intelligence to be used more and more in research. In the linguistic field, AI has found its major application in the language industry for various purposes, such as translation or language learning. The advent of generative intelligence, capable of generating texts, images or videos, after the launch of CHATGPT in November 2022 has only contributed to its diffusion. However, these developments raise many questions in relation to the corpus used for deep learning in terms of preserving linguistic diversity. It is precisely these questions that are at the heart of this issue of Langages
